Enterprise Chat — internal comms suite

The problem

Companies wanted a controllable, WhatsApp-familiar internal chat where admins moderate who can talk to whom, with presence and notifications that don't drain battery.

How we built it

A one-way data flow (backend → API/socket → Redux → thin screens) over Socket.io with Redis-backed heartbeat presence, plus device-aware connections that warm up new devices for reliable first connects.

What it does

• Role-based: admins moderate users, conversations and chat requests
• WhatsApp-style UX — typing indicators, read receipts, unread counts, infinite history
• Rich media — images, documents, audio and video
• Redis heartbeat presence + Expo push notifications
• Device-aware connections with fast-heartbeat warm-up
• Admin tooling beyond chat — storage, payroll and inventory views
